I'm not really a big subscriber to the notion that some years are bad for new music. Maybe they can be disappointing in terms of what actually breaks through, but scratch the surface and there's always plenty of interesting material underneath, waiting patiently to be discovered. 2006 has been no different, and just because No Ripcord was ominously quiet for the first 9 months of the year, it doesn't mean we weren't paying attention.
